Our regular music cinema night in partnership with Doc‘n Roll returns for February with a documentary exploring the life of legendary DJ Jon Sa Trinxa who's played his Balearic vibes on the same beach in Ibiza for over 25 years.
Born Jonathan Grey in England, Jon Sa Trinxa as he's now known globally, fled the UK for Ibiza after his flat was burgled on the same day that the stock market crashed in the 90s. Sa Trinxa's now iconic sound represents Ibiza's culturally diverse swathes of tourists, but also reflects the values of the island’s permanent residents made up of an international collection of creatives, craftspeople and thinkers away from the island's mad party scene.
We're hosting a free online screening of Born Balearic: Jon Sa Trinxa and The Spirit of Ibiza plus Q&A with the main man himself plus filmmaker Lily Rinae - hosted by DJ Mag editor Carl Loben - for 48 hours from 7pm on Friday, February 19th.
