Film Skate/BMX Street Culture
Calling all female shredders out there, the raddest Girls Skate Night in town is back at House of Vans on Thursday 20th of February.
Join us for our all-girl get together and come hit our bowl and street area from 18:00 where two House of Vans tutors will be at hand to teach you the tricks of the trade; so if you're a beginner, fear not!
If you need to reconcile with the universe, Hannah Staunton will be hosting her free yoga sessions*, and DJs spinning the decks while you get to enjoy cocktails on the house all night, courtesy of our in-house cafe The Wall SE1.
On top of it all, this month we're also hosting a screening of powerful documentary Life Is Waiting.
Forty years after being promised freedom by departing Spanish rulers, the Western Sahara remains Africa's last colony, and the Sahrawi people have lived under the oppressive occupation of Morocco since 1975. With a UN ceasefire halting all armed opposition in 1991, the Sahrawi have adopted a non-violent approach to resistance; defying their occupiers through art and music in the hope that a cultural revolution will bring them the freedom they so desire.
Girl skating will be on all night until close - drink responsibly!
*Yoga mats are provided on a first come first served basis. All ages and abilities welcome.
