House of Vans proudly presents Sessions - a series of free intimate gigs with up and coming bands from the UK and beyond. On November 13th we're teaming up with our mates over at Venn Records to bring some serious sounds to Tunnel 2, with Witch Fever, High-Vis, Lapyear and Other Half.
About Witch Fever:
Manchester based all girl punk grunge band. "Imagine The Slits meet Black Sabbath partying with Pussy Riot in Kim Gordon's angry neighbour's basement. Drunk. Witch Fever are wonderful" - Dave Haslam
Formed in 2016 from the ashes of some of the UK's best hardcore bands (Dirty Money, Tremors, DiE, The Smear), High-Vis maintain a hardcore energy in their live shows - it's not uncommon for cheerfully miserable, gold toothed Scouse vocalist Graham Sayle to come away from a gig with a bleeding forehead - but they've taken their aural cues from old UK bands like Gang of Four, Crisis, Joy Division and Stone Roses. Recently they've playing with other smart bands who have been fucking with the old blueprints - Angel Du$t, Turnstile, Culture Abuse, Higher Power to name a few - and like all those bands, their sound is uniquely theirs.
Lapyear are an alternative indie-emo band from London. Unique in sound, they take influence from bands such as Turnover, Slow Crush and Citizen.
About Other Half:
Other Half deal in scathing storytelling and abrasive punk akin to bands like Jawbox, Unwound and Hot Snakes. The 3 piece from Norwich play short, caustic blasts of noise examining the ugliness in the everyday.
